 Paul Sartarelli, Senior Pastor

Paul is the son of immigrant parents, grew up in Ohio though also lived for several years in Italy.

Paul did his undergraduate work at Kent State University receiving a bachelor’s degree in Rhetoric and Classical languages.  He earned his Masters in Theology at Dallas Theological Seminary in NT Greek and Systematic Theology. Paul has done post-graduate work in Rhetoric at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh.

After having served at The Chapel for 8 years Paul became the planting pastor of Riverwood Community Chapel in Kent, Ohio where he was senior pastor for 15 years. 

In 2006 Paul returned to The Chapel in the role of associate senior pastor. In September of 2007 he became the co-senior pastor alongside Knute Larson and in May of 2009 became the senior pastor of The Chapel. 

For 16 years, Paul has been the teaching pastor on the popular Moody Radio “Word on the Street” which is heard locally on WCRF and various Moody Radio affiliates in NE Ohio and Western Pennsylvania. 

Over the years Paul has led and spoken at conferences for pastors, missionaries and spiritual leaders on four continents. 

Paul is married to Sue, who has an active ministry of her own. They have one daughter, Sara who is married and lives in Cincinnati with her husband, Tony and is grandfather to Mila Olivia.

David Fletcher, Executive Pastor

Since his earliest days of ministry, Dr. David Fletcher has been called to serve his local church. He served for 26 years at a church in Dallas, Texas, and four years in a church in Austin before joining the leadership team of The Chapel.

David draws on his extensive experience as an XP to run XPastor.org, a global ministry tool for leaders of churches of all sizes. XPastor.org now gets tens of thousands of visits monthly and holds thousands of pages of free information to help church leaders.

An accomplished executive pastor, professor of doctoral ministry and an expert on church marketing, management and leadership, David’s focus remains on serving the local church, whether that church is in the Mid-western United States, Eastern Asia or anywhere in between.

As an undergraduate,David took classes at Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, California. Later he received degrees from Dallas Theological Seminary, and took executive education classes at the Kellogg School of Management and the Harvard Business School.

He teaches XPastor concepts to Doctor of Ministry students at the Dallas Theological Seminary and at the Evangelical Theological Seminary of India. As part of his international outreach and missionary work, Fletcher is treasurer for the American Council of the Asian Christian Academy. He has served on the ACA board since 1991.

David is certified in the Myers Briggs Type Indicator and the Taylor-Johnson Temperament Analysis. He has been trained in conflict resolution, mediation and arbitration by Peacemaker Ministries.  David has developed an system to help people better understand how they think and relate to others. His People Patterns is found at 5macro.com and his People Patterns Indicator has helped many in their relationships. David’s book on People Patterns will be released in 2011.

When he’s not actively involved in ministry and teaching in Texas, Ohio, India or wherever the Lord’s work takes him, David loves to bicycle and exercise with his wife, Tami—and of course scuba diving! They have two children. Jason, married to Erin, and Lauren, married to Josiah.
